BABY DEWALD COMING AUGUST 2022!
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? This has been the hardest secret to keep and both Eddie and I are so excited to begin this next chapter! The love we already feel for this baby is indescribable. Since we found out, we have been secretly documenting everything and will be sharing as much as possible with you. For now, I’ll share just a bit!
When did you find out?
November 30th!
When is the baby due?
Early August 2022
Are you going to find out the gender?
No, we are going to wait until birth!
Starting a Family
After Eddie and I got married, we both knew we wanted to start a family but it was really important to us that we spent at least a year just the two of us, especially after spending so many years separated by distance. It was also important to us that we went on our delayed honeymoon. We dreamt of a big trip, just us two and we decided we wouldn’t start trying until we could make that happen. After our trip to Switzerland we just felt in our hearts that we were ready to grow our family.
Finding Out I Was Pregnant
Eddie and I were trying to get pregnant and I had been tracking my cycle for the last year. In November, around Thanksgiving I just wasn’t feeling myself – I wasn’t sick, but my body just felt off. I was sweating way more than normal and I just had this feeling in my gut. If you know me personally, you know that I always have a gut feeling about everything. My period has always been irregular, so it comes at different times often but the first day I suspected it would come, it didn’t and that morning, I woke up and I just KNEW that I was pregnant. I can’t describe it, but I had that gut feeling! The first thing I did that morning was drive the the pharmacy and get a test, came home and I saw the words “Pregnant.” I felt my jaw drop. I could not believe it!! On my lunch break, I drove to Target to get something to surprise Eddie when he got home from work. I cried happy tears the entire way to Target.
Telling Eddie
When Eddie got home from work, I had our letterboard, baby socks and two positive pregnancy tests sitting on the kitchen table. The board read “We Are Having a Baby!” I filmed his reaction and will be sharing that on Instagram! It was the sweetest reaction ever. We both were over the moon. It was the BEST DAY EVER. He is going to be the best dad and I could cry just thinking about it.
I wanted to try to keep this post short and sweet! A full first trimester recap will be coming to the blog in about a week or two and I will be sharing all the details, the good, the bad and everything in between. Thank you so much for reading and coming along on this journey with us.

I understand this is a sensitive topic for some people and my heart is with you if you are going through challenges of infertility, loss, etc. Everyone’s journey looks very different and I am always thinking of those who are in a hard period of their journey to motherhood. Thinking and praying for you, big time! xx
