Long Distance is Over | I’m Moving!

I can’t even believe these words are coming out of my mouth – long distance is over! If you are new around here, my fiancé and I have been doing long distance for our entire relationship that started four years ago. We met at the tail end of college and have been traveling over a thousand miles to see each other every single month for the past four years. I knew this road wasn’t going to be easy, but I knew it would be worth it.

Now that we are reaching the end and I’m reflecting on everything that’s happened throughout this journey, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It has made us stronger in many ways and I think it has helped us grow together and individually. We got engaged in October 2019 in Italy and you can read all about that here. Shortly after that, we purchased our first home in Pennsylvania, a few minutes away from where Eddie grew up.

If you’re following along on Instagram, you know that we had to postpone our June wedding that is now scheduled for August. The original plan was that I would be moving from Florida to Pennsylvania in June, right after the wedding, but with everything that is going on…we just can’t wait any longer. I will be moving into the house at the end of May and Eddie will be joining me there in August. We are so excited to spend the summer together.

Anniversary

Like I said, we are driving up to PA at the end of this month and we are one step closer to our forever together. I don’t know when it will feel real or if it ever will. I have been looking forward to this for so long and I know it is going to be incredibly special.

You can expect to see much more home content as we will probably spend the majority of the summer decorating the house and filling it with furniture. I hope to be cooking a lot more and sharing easy recipes. If quarantine allows, I see us adventuring together as much as possible, exploring our new home town.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shown us love and support over the last few years. Long distance is really hard and you can’t do it alone. From the airport drop offs, pick ups, comments and encouragement, we couldn’t have done it without you. I am excited to be able to include Eddie more in my blog content and for you guys to get to know us better. This truly has been an amazing four years and I am so ready for the next chapter.

Oh my goodness this is AMAZING news! My husband and I did long distance (although not quite as much distance as you) when we first started dating and it was hard, but so rewarding once we were together. Remember to give each other space at first so you don’t overwhelm each other!
