How To Preserve Your Top Wedding Cake Tier | KeepCake

It’s officially wedding season, although it doesn’t completely feel like it. Whether you are having a smaller wedding, postponing, or planning a wedding in the next couple of years, I hope you are finding some joy in this planning process. When it comes to wedding planning, there are so many details that go into your special day. From the guest book, to the shoes, to the little signs and so on, there is a lot that goes into it. It is tradition to preserve the top layer of your wedding cake to enjoy on your first anniversary for good luck. In order to keep the cake fresh and preserved for an entire year, it needs to be in an air-tight container. KeepCake will help to do just that.

KeepCake

KeepCake is designed to protect the top tier of your wedding cake. It will ensure that you have a fresh cake a year later. KeepCake also features a keepsake compartment that you can creatively use as a time capsule. Store a copy of your vows in it or write a letter to your one-year later selves. The cake container serves as more than just a cake preserver. Opening up your wedding cake on your anniversary should be fun and seamless, without any worry.

As I planned my wedding, storing my cake was one of my last thoughts. This is a really great gift idea in my opinion. You can get 10% off with code LOVESOPHIA.

The Benefits

The founders of KeepCake did a lot of research before coming up with the final product. KeepCake creates a vacuum sealed cavity for storing your cake, which prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi, as well as preventing the evaporation of water and other volatile compounds.

KeepCake is the first container that was designed to fight freezer burn (yuck!). It prevents the fats in the cake from absorbing flavors and odors from neighboring foods in the freezer, and keep the cake looking as beautiful as it did on the wedding day.

I didn’t know there was such a product! We were married 15+ years ago and just froze it in a Tupperware. I do remember it didn’t taste quite as good as on our wedding day!

I stored my cake in foil and plastic wrap and the put it in the freezer for the year. It was pretty yucky by the time we took it out for our anniversary. I am glad to see a better option.

I’m not married and I don’t think I will be for a while, but I’ve got a cake topper from my 18th birthday which I absolutely love and I’ll definitely use what you’ve suggested to try and keep it in good condition!

Wow! What a great idea! I didn’t know such a product existed. I’ll keep it in mind if I happen to get married or know of someone who will be getting married in the future.

This sounds like a great option! We didn’t use a container like that, just wrapped ours up in plastic wrap. That being said, we also didn’t keep the cake as long as we were supposed to… instead we broke into it early after the freezer gave out and everything thawed. I mean, why let good cake go to waste? Right?
