Welcome to the Baby’s Room | Gender Neutral Baby Nursery + Products

Welcome to our baby’s nursery! We have worked so hard to make this space special and I am so happy with how it turned out. In today’s blog post I’m going to be sharing everything, from the design to the decor, and the organization. Since we don’t know the baby’s gender, we decided to go for a a gender neutral baby nursery. We used earthy tones and kept it natural, which is our style anyway. Once the baby arrives, we can add some personal touches, but I truly love how it turned out. See more nursery updates on my Instagram!

Gender Neutral Baby Nursery

This room was originally our guest bedroom and we never really finished it. For the last two years, it’s been 80% complete and worked fine as a guest room. It had a dark navy accent wall and we always knew that when we got pregnant, this would be the baby’s room. After completing our front foyer, we fell in love with the paint color we used for that wall. The paint color is ‘Muted Sage’ by Behr. We had paint left over, so we added a little bit of white to the can to make it a tad bit lighter and used it for the accent wall in baby’s nursery. Here are some pictures of the room before we painted the wall.

Before

This was the accent wall when we moved into our house and what we started with when we began on the nursery. We added board and batten to give it some texture before painting it.

Once the boards were up, we put on a couple coats of paint. It immediately brightened up the room.

The Dresser

Another project that we did in the nursery is paint the dresser. We actually got this dresser for free. Someone in our neighborhood put it at the curb and we snagged it and painted it for the guest room. I’ll post before and after pictures below but when we picked it up it was it’s natural wood color. We painted it a charcoal gray and changed the hardware for the guest room. When we decided to keep it for the nursery, I had a vision of painting it white, but keeping the gold hardware. So, that’s what we did. Here are a couple of photos of the process.

Small Accent Wall

The third project we did in the nursery was another small accent wall. We were almost finished with the room and felt like this wall was missing something. I turned to Pinterest and found some inspiration, and this is what we ended up with. It changed the entire space and I love it! The color we used for the wall was Crème de Caramel by Behr.

BEFORE + AFTER

After those three projects were done, it was time to decorate – my favorite part! This room has quickly become my favorite room in the house. The earthy colors give it a calming feel as soon as you enter the room. I will link as many things as I can and hope that this gives you the inspiration you need for a gender neutral baby nursery!
