The countdown is officially on! We had our baby shower last weekend at our house and that was the last real big thing on our calendar before baby’s arrival. Now, we anxiously wait. I’m so excited to share details from our backyard baby shower with you. It was the perfect, intimate gathering with family and friends to celebrate our sweet little baby. We always knew we wanted to have a baby shower at our house and after a couple of Pinterest searches and creative thinking, we brought our vision to life with the help of some of our amazing friends, family and vendors. Today’s blog post will share all of the details on our backyard bear-theme baby shower!
Our Backyard Bear-Theme Baby Shower
“We Can Bearly Wait” Theme
This seems to be the theme of the year. A couple of months ago, my sister sent me a TikTok of a bear-themed baby shower and I fell in love. Since we don’t know the gender of our baby, we wanted to keep it neutral and I thought the bear idea was so cute! It does seem to be a popular theme right now and it was pretty easy to find decor to go along with it. Our house has a lot of neutral and earth-toned decor so it was easy to use our home decor for accents at the party. Amazon also has a ton of decor that I have put together in a folder on my Amazon Storefront.
I got our invitations from Zazzle. They have a couple of options that are super cute, affordable and ship quick! I loved how they turned out. Here is the link to our exact invites.
The Decor
As I mentioned above, most of the decor we used was already in my house or from Amazon. I tried to just keep everything a shade of brown or cream color. The only vendor we used, other than catering was for the balloon arch. It seriously was the centerpiece of the party and turned out better than I could have ever imagined. We used Balloons By Victoria! She is absolutely amazing to work with and I can’t recommend her enough. I showed her a couple of inspiration photos and left the rest up to her. My husband built the wood backdrop with wood from home depot and we spray painted it, and then purchased this “We Can Bearly Wait” this sign and spray painted it as well.
In terms of actual decor, I only purchased a couple of things off of Amazon. We had 4-5 bears around the house attached to balloons. You can get a small pack of teddy bears on Amazon for a good price. We used one as decor on the bar and then we also used them as centerpieces on the tables with guests. I also ordered a pack of balloons and got them filled locally, just in case the local stores didn’t have the colors I was looking for. I would check locally first because even though these balloons did the job, they weren’t the best quality (fyi). We also got game cards off of Amazon. These were super fun and there are thousands of game options to choose from. When people entered, we had a table with a diaper raffle. I got this kit off of Amazon as well. This is the frame for the welcome sign and the print was from Etsy.
Favors & Centerpieces
For favors, we did little honey jars filled with local honey. They turned out so adorable! We displayed them inside of a wicker bassinet. It was one of my favorite details of the day. This is the link to the honey jars we used. We had extra honey, so we used the large jars as weights for the centerpieces since it was pretty windy. We attached a bear to the jar and then attached balloons to the bear. To add a little flair to the tables, we sprinkled this bear confetti and these little letter blocks – such a cute touch! I grabbed these chargers from Target to use as a base for the centerpieces. We also used one under the cake. I think they turned out so cute!
My Dress
My dress is from Amazon and you can find it here. I also wore something similar, with sleeves for my maternity photos and that would have also been a super cute option! I got my true size, small in both dresses and they both fit perfectly with the bump.
