I asked you what you wanted to know over on Instagram stories the other day and today I’m going to answer them. Thank you for all of your love and support that you’ve shown, I appreciate it so much! In the next couple of days, I will share my first trimester recap that will have even more detail on how everything went during the first three months, but for now, I am going to answer your specific questions. Let’s get started on this pregnancy Q+A.
Pregnancy Q+A
1. WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING AND MOST NERVE WRACKING PART OF BEING PREGNANT?
So many things!! I’m definitely most excited to meet our baby and see who he or she is, looks like and add to our little family. I’m excited to watch Eddie become a dad and I’m also very excited to be a mom. It almost feels surreal that it’s really happening.
2. DO YOU ALREADY HAVE NAMES PICKED OUT?
Yes and no. We have one girl name that we really love and we have a long list of options for both boy and girl that we would consider. Definitely something we are still thinking and talking about every single day!
3. ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE A BABY SHOWER?
Yes! I just started to brainstorm ideas and I’m so excited to see it come to life! I’ll share everything on Instagram and the blog, so stay tuned for that!
4. DO YOU HAVE NURSERY IDEAS?
So many ideas. I cannot wait to design and build the nursery! The plan is to keep it earthy tones and since we are not finding out the gender, we are keeping it pretty neutral. I just started a Pinterest board with some ideas.
5. HOW ARE YOU FEELING?
I am feeling good! I’m going to go in-depth in the first trimester recap and explain all of my symptoms over the last couple of months, but I’m happy to say that I have no morning sickness or nausea. I have just been very tired! Pregnancy insomnia is real. But I can’t complain!
6. DO YOU THINK YOUR DOG HAS SENSED YOUR PREGNANCY?
I honestly don’t, at least not yet. He is already so attached to me so he is constantly laying on me/my stomach but I haven’t noticed anything different in particular to pregnancy/him sensing the baby. I have a feeling he will though! He is very in tune to us.
7. HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE READY?
There is a saying that you’ll never be ready and I believe that to be true. It can be really scary taking the step to bring a baby into the world, but we both felt it in our hearts that we are at a good place in our lives, we have saved money, we have a house, traveled, etc. We have talked about timing for awhile and this time just felt right to us.
8. HAVE YOU STARTED BUYING ANY PREGNANCY PRODUCTS? FAVORITE BRANDS?
Not really! I have belly butter and prenatal vitamins and that’s about it. I’ve been using the Burts Bees Mama Belly Butter and using the Ritual Prenatal Vitamins (get $15 off your first order with my link). I absolutely love them both. These are not sponsored, just brands I have been using for months and truly love. I will definitely share products as time goes on.
9. THOUGHTS ON YOUR BODY CHANGING?
I’ve been a very small person my whole life and living a healthy lifestyle has been very important to me since I can remember. It’s definitely been a little challenging. My workouts aren’t the same, I have been moving at a slower pace and I’ve been eating way more than I usually do, but I keep reminding myself why and that has helped tremendously. There is something so beautiful knowing that I’m growing a human inside of me. Every time I see the baby on the ultrasound, I feel more joy than I ever have in my life. I know it’s not going to be easy in terms of body image, but I am going to continue to remind myself why.
10. ARE YOU NERVOUS FOR PREGNANCY/MOTHERHOOD?
I was for the first month, and that has all went away. Of course I have my moments of fear and doubt and I’m sure those will pop up at times, but overall I feel very at peace about all of it. Coming from someone who worries about literally everything, I’m very surprised how calm I feel about pregnancy/becoming a mom. I feel like I was meant to be a mama and it’s finally coming true. It feels surreal more than anything else.
