Hello! For quite some time I have been showing you glimpses on my Instagram story of the backyard garden oasis that is now finally complete. It has been a long project and something that I have always dreamed of having. Well, it turned out even better than I thought and what once was an in-ground pool is now a beautiful, enclosed garden.

If you have a pool that you have been thinking about filling in, consider using it to start a garden. I love that the tile surrounding it was already there, making it cleaner, more attractive and easy to get to and manage. Not only do I love it, but my chickens have been having so much fun. We are still adjusting to the South Florida weather and trying to maintain healthy vegetables with all of this tropical rain so we have let the chickens experiment in there and it’s safe to say that they would destroy it if we let them.
If you have chickens, consider enclosing the area. If you don’t have chickens but would like to, check out How to Be a Cool Chicken Mom, Not a Regular Chicken Mom. To be honest, the chickens are some of the easiest animals to maintain on our farm. The chickens love vegetables and will take everything and eat it. We used a small stone to surround the garden beds, giving the area a clean and sophisticated look. It is very easy to maneuver through the stone and I absolutely love the look of it.

Your garden looks so beautiful! I wish I had a space for something like this in my yard, but I love to admire other people’s work. I hope your veggies and plants can keep up with the heat! 🙂
