5 Books You Need to Read for Inspiration

To be honest – I have never really been one for reading. I have always wanted to like it but I have found myself carrying my books around with me and never actually opening them. Over the last year or so I have made a point to find books that really interest me and I actually read them – I know, I can’t believe it either. If you don’t like to read, these ones are easy. As a matter of fact, some of them I couldn’t even put down. I want to share these with you in hopes that they change your life like they did mine. You can click the images below to shop.

 Twenty Two by Allison Trowbridge

This is one of my favorites. If you have just graduated and are looking for some answers, read this. Even if you have been out of school for a few years and are feeling like you need a sense of direction and guidance, grab this book.

Love Does by Bob Goff

This book inspired me to start my blog. I actually had the pleasure to hear Bob speak at a conference a few years ago in Pittsburgh and he was by far the best speaker I have ever heard. Bob Goff is one of the most unique and inspiring individuals and this book is a collection of his stories and adventures.

Love Lives Here by Maria Goff

This is a must read. This book was written by Bob Goff’s wife, Maria. You will hear all about here in the book above, Love Does. This book is about finding what you truly need, even if it might not be what is offered. This couple is actual goals and this book will make you cry. I am obsessed.

Preemptive Love by Jeremy Courtney

Jeremy Courtney is one of the coolest people you will ever learn about. I actually was lucky enough to hear him speak as well. In this book he tells a personal account of his family and the Preemptive Love Coalition as they help children obtain lifesaving surgeries in Iraq using a tool called love.

Choosing Real: An Invitation to Celebrate When Life Doesn’t Go As Planned by Bekah Jane Pogue

In this book, the author Bekah Pogue walks with us into life’s unplanned circumstances–specifically frantic schedules, pain, transition, feelings of unworthiness, loneliness, and tension–and reminds us it is in these moments where God invites us to notice, respond, and even celebrate an authentic relationship with Him through every detail despite our own efforts or work.
